Although still young, Modecai is thoughtful and friendly He was a dropout but he has since gone back to school and is currently attending the Winners Family School at Gbawe. Modecai was unable to continue in school with his brother Judy due to lack of funding to pay for school fees, lunch, school supplies etc. He lives close to another child (Vera) that is already sponsored by PAAJAF and Vera’s mother introduced us to this family as being in great need of support. After interviewing the family and finding out more about their situation, we found this information to be correct.
Modecai’s mother is a petty trader and his step-father sometimes engages as a taxi driver but does not have a permanent job. Their daily income ranges around 15 to 18 Ghanaian Cedis which is about $4 USD. This meager income is not sufficient to send their two children to school. With your support, Modecai has been sent back to school and he needs your help again so that he could continue receive good and quality education. Modecai may miss classes because his parents cannot afford the school fees.
His mother is determined that Modecai and his brother Judy are able to achieve their future dreams and she realises that a good education will open up many new opportunities to them and the entire family.
At first none of the family members could speak English and Modecai’s mother identified learning English as one of the hopes that she has for her sons. She wants them to learn English so that they can get a good job in the future that pays them better than what she is paid now so they can create a better life for themselves.
We wish to support Modecai on his journey through education and in leading him to a better tomorrow. Please help us support this family. Thank you!
