Kids and Bible (KAB)
funding goal $
Kids and Bible (KAB) Project: KAB provides a platform for children to network with each other and learn about the message of Jesus Christ and lessons from the Bible. The program ranges from bible studies to discipleship, worship, camps and events. Children will be equipped with the tools to lead a fulfilling life including increased community spirit and moral understanding through bible teachings. Children will achieve personal development skills by learning about Jesus. PAAJAF works to ensure that children find a permanent support system for their social and emotional needs.
The Issue / Problem
The Christian community within Gbawe has community volunteers that wish to teach children on a regular basis the lessons from the bible and give local children a platform to learn and grow in understanding the bible teachings. However, Christian groups in the community lack the financial and staff resources to be able to spread the knowledge of the messages of Jesus and to effectively interact with youth in the community to provide guidance and support.
Beatrice Billakpe, a local woman, runs a group that organizes bible classes for children within her catchment in Gbawe Community every Saturday. She started this initiative with a partner, but unfortunately the partner has since relocated and it became too difficult for Beatrice to continue the program due to lack of resources and financial assistance.
Beatrice Billakpe feels that it is a calling from God to work together to bring classes to children in Gbawe “Frankly, I have an inside feeling to support children. This is God’s work, please have you been touched to support this God’s calling? I cannot do it alone, so I and the PAAJAF Foundation are calling for helping hands and it is you that the spirit has led to share the message with.”
Studying the bible will benefit children in their daily lives. Children will:
Model the teachings – parables are explained and children receive guidance with problems that they too face in everyday life. They develop a deeper understanding of facing difficult situations.
Find answers for themselves – children learn to dig deeper and understand how God’s word applies to their lives.
Grow in confidence – children can discuss difficult issues they experience such as loneliness, fear, worry and seek guidance and support through bible classes and the messages of Jesus.
KAB will establish a platform to network children to know about the gospel of Jesus Christ, from Bible studies to discipleship, worship, camps and events. For this we need your help with:
- Purchase of Bibles and materials for studies
- Volunteers in Ghana and an international level to teach and give knowledge
- Establish a centre where all the children can network
- Training of a full-time bible studies teacher
- Seeking sponsorship for the children that need help
- Establish bible studies clubs within local schools and homes
Potential Long Term Impact
The KAB program will help children to integrate improved social and emotional skills at young ages by understanding Christian teachings and develop as strong, thoughtful and caring adults as they put teachings into practice in their daily lives. The program will provide children with a deeper understanding of the bible and give guidance and support to children who face problems in their lives. This will give children confidence, self esteem and an improved moral outlook.
