The PAAJAF Foundation is working on behalf of underprivileged children, youth and women in rural Ghana to end poverty and illiteracy. To accomplish this task, PAAJAF focuses on the following core areas of work: Youth Resilience, Education, Child Welfare and Health.
Education is the key to upward mobility. As a disadvantaged urban ‘sprawl’, Gbawe’s schools are amongst those that are most under-resourced. Public schools in the area are very over-crowded. Classes are generally twice the size of those considered acceptable in the Developed World. The teachers are therefore unable to give individual attention to any pupils in the normal school hours; this affects attainment levels.
Attaining child welfare is the key towards having a health community. PAAJAF works to ensure that needy children find permanent response to their needs.
Gbawe has a very youthful demography with 45% of its entire population being 15-35 and 65% of this total youth population within the employment age. Over the years, the youth of Ghana have contended with a series of challenges, key among which are the lack of market demand driven skills and high unemployment levels.
Having good health is a basic human right. At PAAJAF, we believe that healthy families are the cause to healthy communities. From this faith, PAAJAF is looking forward towards securing health needs to its beneficiaries.
