Covid19 – Save our school and bring relief to our community

Gbawe is our town located in the outskirts of Accra where the PAAJAF Foundation is located, we currently have 91 students enrolled from 2 to 14 years of age. Together with their families, teachers and staff, we are a safe place for young children to learn, play and be part of a loving community composed of around 515 people. Your donation is considered an act of empathy as many families will get support and with your help, the future will bring hope for them as the school and teachers will be ready to welcome all of their students as soon as the COVID-19 crisis is over.

We don’t want to fail our community, we are 100% committed to them. We want to continue improving their living conditions by providing children a good quality education and youth job training for future advancement nevertheless, our project is currently threatened by the current crisis. Due to the mandatory lockdown, our school is closed and all of our students, families and teachers who are unemployed at the moment, are facing complex challenges at covering basic necessities such as sanitary and nutritional needs.

Your generosity will allow us to act quickly in this uncertain time, by bringing immediate relief to our school community by:

  • Ensuring that nutritious meals continue to reach our students at home
  • Supporting financially our school teachers community to meet their basic needs
  • Maintaining the school minimum operation to keep our cherished project alive when we can welcome our children again
Long-term impact

The consequences or staying afloat are tangible in the near future. Along with our volunteers, you and the people of the Gbawe community, we will continue to work towards the realization of the “Education Center for Disadvantaged Families Ghana”. Our vision is to create an educational and community center for disadvantaged children and their families providing a space that leads the way out of poverty, increases the literacy rate, and encourages civic engagement by our own community members.
